Health Fair Activities for Kids

Health fairs are organized to educate people through interactive events based on providing awareness of preventative health practices, medicines and treatments. Health care fairs may be organized for people of specific ages or for kids. Fun element is given equal importance like learning while organizing health fair for kids. What activities can make children learn health precautions as well as enjoy? Here I want to share some ideas for kid’s health fair and main activities to be planned for kid’s health fair:

Hand-Washing Exercise

Set up a hand washing station to train kids to wash their hands properly. You can represent germs with glitter. Teach them saving water and using soap properly. Some people wash their hands with water only and feel that all germs are gone from their hands. Children also follow them. Make children realize how soap removes germs from hands by washing glittered hands with soap.

Poison Prevention

Different items look similar and children get easily confused while recognizing these items. Try to teach children in making difference between medications and candies or other household cleaners. Display comparison of candies and pills, toothpaste and ointment and other liquids for safety of children.

Bicycle Safety

Educate children about bicycle safety tips. Guide them about method and benefits of using helmet properly. Teach them for applying appropriate rules and hand signals for riding bicycle safely.

Personal Safety

Ask local police and people from fire and rescue department and present personal safety tips for kids. Ask them from quick response for what they learn from you. Present children with coloring books, badges or other gift hampers for kids.

Other Healthy Habits

Let the kids learn healthy habits to bring in lifetime of good health. Provide them vaccination information from the local health department in simple words. Ask a physical education specialist to teach aerobics to children and make them enjoy. Ask a person to demonstrate exercise in front of children.
